Join us for a special overview of the City of Chicago DSNS 12-Hour Push Package Deployment from pharmacist, Michael Robbins with the Chicago Department of Public Health's Public Health Emergency Response Program. This presentation will review the current approved DSNS 12-Hour Push Package container contents and intent for use during a large scale medical emergency. Public health and hospital partners will have the opportunity to see, touch, evaluate, and better understand the re-apportionment of the DSNS 12-Hour Push Package compliment of flight containers containing medical material and pharmaceuticals for the treatment of symptomatic patients.
Dr. Howard Backer will share California’s Public Health and EMS experiences during the wildfires of 2018 including the Sonoma-Napa and Camp Fires. Lessons learned and best practices will be shared in the areas of general medical services, medical shelters, incident management teams, and medical supplies. Shelters in these areas stayed open for nearly a month and lessons learned from the medical issues associated with them, including isolation and infection control, will educate those responding in future disasters.
Howard Backer, MD, MPH, FACEP, is the Director of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) where he leads the department in establishing and enforcing standards for EMS personnel, coordinating with local EMS systems, overseeing the development of statewide care systems, and preparing for and responding to disasters.

Yoga will be held at the Marriott Hotel in room Fell A on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 6:45 am – 7:45 am. There will be approximately 15 yoga mats available each day. Please bring your own with you though if you would like to.
